Mrs. Kate Haire, 92, a member of the Christian Church here, died at 6:20 a.m. today in the Lane House Nursing Home here. She had resided at 1001 W. Wabash Ave. She was born in Thompkinsville, Ky., on Oct. 3, 1981 [sic], a daughter of Oliver and Lucy Hutchens. She married U.G. Haire at Wingate on Feb. 26, 1918. He died in 1935. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Irene Grabman of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Inus Brown of Rt. 4, Crawfordsville; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Glen Kochell of Veedersburg; two stepsons, James of Westchester, Ill., and Sam of Baltimore; five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Oak Hill Mausoleum with the Rev. Dorman Winger officiating. Entombment will follow. Friends may call at Hunt & Son Funeral Home here after 4 p.m. Thursday. The family requests that memorials be made in the form of contributions to the Culver Hospital Portable Defibrillator Fund.
